I love little quilts and I have had this kit for quite sometime and decided it would be a good project for early morning sewing before work. It is "Martin's Pennies" by Carol Hopkins. I will take it on vacation with me and hand quilt it while we are traveling. I have 2 others that will be going along and hope to get them all finished in the next 2 weeks. I am having mixed emotions about leaving home for 2 weeks. I love taking day trips or even 4 day trips but I haven't been away from home for more than that in almost 11 years. I love being home, it is my haven, it is where I am most creative, and I am at peace there. I know I will have fun traveling and meeting new people but I will count the days when I can come back home to my little corner of the world.

Carol, enjoy your vacation! I know the feeling, but we all survive being away from our little corner of the world!
Have fun - Lurline.
The first few days are the worst, after that it gets better and I'm sure you'll start to enjoy yourself. Then there's all the super joy of coming home again.
Oh Carol, I know how you feel. We mastered the "one week away from home" but two weeks is a long time. I pray that your days are filled with so much fun that the time will pass by quickly. And boy, aren't you the ambitious one working on all those projects while on vacation. :D
Have a good one!
You can always turn it into a "Looking for Inspiration" time, for quilts. Know you will have a great time. I have that pattern and was thinking of doing it in left over Batiks. What do you think.
We just returned from a 13 day trip. I know how you feel about leaving home for a longer period of time. You aren't surrounded by all the comfort things. I love being in my sewing room or in a favorite chair doing my handwork. I don't get any stitching done in the car. I'm too busy enjoying the scenery.
I hope you are having a wonderful vacation and don't miss home too much. Your little quilt is very cute.
Martin's Pennies is one of my favorite little quilts! I even got a ribbon on mine this year at the fair!
