Christmas in June

Yes, I am working on Christmas pieces in June.
I have talked before about a friend of mine that will piece a quilt for me for quilting for her, well, these pieces will go on a quilt that she has pieced. I still need 79 holly leaves and about 65 more berries but I have plenty of time to get them done before the holidays.
There is an "NCIS" marathon this weekend on TV which is perfect company for me this evening while I work on this project. Just gotta love
Agent Gibbs!

Happy Father's Day and a Quilt

First I would like to say "Happy Father's Day" to all the dads I know! My father passed away when I was 17 years old and I still miss him as much today as I did then.

After church I came home and I finished putting this quilt together but only am taking a pix of part of it, the full picture will come when I get it quilted. That may be a while since I have quite a stack of quilts to get through until it will be this one's turn. :D

Hope everyone has a fantastic Sunday with their families!

Finally Finished A Quilt!

I have finally finished something! I am getting very good at starting new projects but not very good finishing old ones. I am getting out all the old quilt tops and putting them in a pile and I "will" get them done! Here is my first one! I love this quilt and thanks so much to Bonnie for giving us the pattern.
Here is a pix of the quilting I did on it. I really love how it turned out! Tonight after work I will get a label made and then it will be done!

Hope you all have a super quilty day!!

Graduation 2010

Graduation is over for 2010. It was such a bittersweet event, I just can't believe my grandson is on his way to college! I never realized how fast time flew by until I had grandchildren.
This is a picture of Derrick and his Aunt Jess at Awards Night. He received a huge scholarship and many other awards. I know he will do just as well at Butler University as he did in high school.

This next picture was taken at the party after graduation. Derrick, Aunt Jess, and cousins Jenna and Leah. Derrick is one of those guys that really love his little cousins and has been such a good role model for them. We'll certainly miss having him close to home but a road trip to Indy will be fun too!

Check out the picture at the end of my posts on this page. That is a picture of Derrick and his mother, who passed away from Cancer when he was only 5. I know she is looking down from heaven with a proud smile on her face!

I Love Bread & Butter!

I just love this quilt, Bread & Butter! This is another one that my friend Angela made for me and I quilted a quilt for her in return. The colors on this quilt are really different and I think that is why I picked this kit. Thanks to Angela for her beautiful piecing skills, you are the best!!

It has been quite a while between posts for me, but it has been a little busy around here and I really didn't have much to post about. Hubby and I went on a short vacation while attending a wedding in Canada, and then doing some wandering around Michigan looking at light houses. They are so cool! Below is one of my favorites!

We had a wonderful time just wandering around and hubby was so great about stopping at quite a few quilt shops. I just love how they are all so different and unique. What a great time we had but there's no place like home. :D
