Quilt-A-Long Quilt Finish

My large Quilt-A-Long quilt is a finish and I couldn't be happier!

I wonder what the girls will come up with for the next Quilt-A-Long!??? In the meantime I will thoroughly enjoy this one.
This will be my last post for a while. I am leaving on a Mission trip with my church family to Joplin, MO. to do what we can to help with the clean up there. This will be my first Mission Trip and I am really looking forward to it. Please keep us in your prayers.
Have a quilty weekend and I will post when I return. :D

My "Weaving The Rails Quilt" is a Finish!

I finally finished sewing the binding down on my quilt and I am so happy it is done!

It was alot of fun but what alot of strips!! I have been much better with saving strips and squares and it sure did pay off.

Here's a close up of my quilting. I love this pattern because it gives this quilt so much texture and alot more interest. It has been so hot here the last week that I don't like going out and I am getting alot of sewing and quilting done this way.

Hope it is not too hot where you live!

1st Quilt-A-Long Finish

I have finished quilting and binding my first Quilt-A-Long quilt that will go to a quilty friend of mine. We each made the big quilt for ourselves and then we made the small quilt to send to each other. Below is my little quilt that will be sent to Angela. My large sized quilt like the one below is now on my machine ready to be quilted, which is my plans for today.

I have really enjoyed doing this and am looking forward to more in the future!
Happy Quilting!!

Christmas Stocking

After quilting a "Quilt-Along" quilt for my friend I got back to making some more Christmas blocks.

I have some trimming to do and then on to the next one. Once thing about Christmas blocks is that it does help me think about cold weather! We had a nice shower earlier and it cooled off until the clouds moved on and then the sun came out and so did all the humidity! I guess I don't take the heat as well as I used to. :(

Hope you all out there are staying cool wherever you are!

Christmas Block #2

These blocks are so much fun to make so far. Did have a dislexic (sp) moment putting this block together, had the middle part in upside down and backward. Talk about a wierd looking wreath! I guess I should have taken a pix of the "before" block and then the "after". Well, I guess we all have days like this!!

Christmas In July!

It has been soooo hot here the last few days, the humidity is making it really miserable, and so today I decided to start piecing some Christmas blocks, it sure can't hurt!

My quilty friend Angela has sent some patterns to me that she had used, and since I still have some Merry and Bright FQ's I decided to have some Christmas fun in July!

Merry Christmas To All!!!!!!

A Good Cause

My daughter is helping raise money for the grassroots bicycle tour that supports the effort of finding a cure for cancer. If you would like to read more about Pelotonia and the great thing this event does, please vist her link:

It seems each of us has been effected by this horrible disease in one way or another. Let's not let another day go by where there can be new people diagnosed or lost to this disease! No donation is too small. Every bit gets us one step closer to finding a cure for cancer!!

Thimbleberries Delight

I have always loved Thimbleberries fabrics, I even used to belong to a Thimbleberries Club and have made quite a few projects over the years. In my older years :D I have picked out the Moda fabrics as my favorites and have never looked back. Well, I have quite a few kits of Thimbleberries and have decided to get these done and have fallen in love with the prints again. Below I have just finished up piecing a Log Cabin quilt that I will cherish. Each fabric brings back a special memory of the quilters and teachers that I will never forget.

I took this pix so I could define the different fabrics at a glance.
I even kept the little threads attached until I get ready to quilt it. LOL

My husband always teases me and says "How come you can't remember what we talked about yesterday, but can remeber everything about a quilt you made 2 years ago!" Is there anybody out there like me????

Finally Pieced!

My friend and I have been doing a "Quilt Along" the last few weeks and we have finally finished piecing the quilts. It seems like I have been working on these two quilts forever but it has been alot of fun! My quilty friend Angela and I are making the little quilt for each other in each of our fabrics. Her fabrics are so girly and adorable and mine are more masculine looking. What a win-win situation in our opinion!

I just finished putting on the borders this afternoon so now it is time to quilt them both. Angela is hand quilting my quilt, I am so excited, and I will do hers by machine. They both are going to look so cool. :D
Here is a close up picture of the border fabric. I had a hard time deciding whether to go with the blue color or the red but finally decided on the red. I think it gives the look a little punch.

I just love doing these quilt alongs and love to see how all the other quilts look like!!

Happy Quilting!
