Fun Saturday

I had such a fun day yesterday, Saturday's are just the best! I started out my day picking up my mom and taking her to breakfast. She lives an hour away so I try to get down there as often as I can but you know how that goes, the days just get away from me. After eating we went shopping, had to get a new pair of black shoes for a wedding in 2 weeks. Mother is 82 and is having a hard time standing for any length of time so we didn't tarry long. We had a nice visit and on my way home I stopped at one of my favorite quilt shops in the area and picked up a few things.
I am working on a Fig Tree pattern, a table runner that calls for 60 degree angles cut. Well, I must not have done it right since they didn't work when I tried adding the strips so I had to get more of the wonderful creamy fabric. I am still having trouble so I just put the kit away and will try it figure it out. I could use a recomendation on a good ruler to get the correct cut!
I love the new book I got, cool ideas for bits and pieces in my stash!

When I got home I decided I needed to finish up old projects, get rid of the guilt of starting anything else, and pulled out this, Circles of Scraps quilt. I started this in 2008 when I received my Spring/Summer 2008 Quilt Sampler magazine and put it away when harvest started. Well, I now have all the pieces cut so I just have to put the pieces together. I have used mostly Jo Morton fabrics so I am really loving it!

Hope everyone is having a great quilty Sunday!

New Toy

After church yesterday hubby and I went and got groceries and on the way home we had to stop and talk tires at WalMart. Well, I am not very interested in tires so I browsed the fabric section and found these new plastic templates that makes these great circles! It was so easy running my rotary cutter around the half circle and getting perfect circles! I think I will make a polka dot quilt now with them, sounds like fun!!
