Sunday Finish

I finished this great scrappy quilt after church this
morning, went together quick and used up alot of my
Jo Morton scraps. It should be a great snuggly quilt.

I had forgotten to take a pix of this pretty quilt above. One of my PIF gals and I have gotten to be good friends and are doing some swapping. I am going to be quilting a couple of her quilts and she has pieced this quilt kit for me. I love this quilt, so bright and colorful, it makes me so happy!
Thanks so much Angela!!
Happy Sunday to all. :D

Saturday Sewing

What a great day for sewing, cold and gloomy, and alot of basketball on TV. Here is my scrap project so far. I'm working on the border now, alot more squares to cut and sew but am in no hurry. It has been so much fun just going through my tubs of scraps to use up all these different pieces, and to try and remember all the other projects I made with them. Life is good!

PIF ARRIVED!

What a surprise I had waiting for me when I got home from work yesterday! My PIF gift came from across the world, Australia, from a wonderful quilter Lurline Geoghegan. This bag was featured in the magazine shown above that Lurline made and she even gives you the pattern so you can make one for yourself. How cool is this?!! Lurline, I will treasure it always!!!!

Great Weekend!

What a great weekend hubby and I had! It was the weekend the company I work for had our Christmas party in Indianapolis. On our way to the hotel we stopped and a quilt shop in Carmel, IN and on the way home we stopped at Quilts Plus in Indy.

I picked up a few things at both stores. :D The fabrics are so not me, I usually do the darker colors and the Civil War fabrics. These should be alot of fun and reminded me of spring. It is just around the corner right???

Leftover Madness!

I am feeling so much better today, decided to get
up and go to work. When I got home I looked at all the extra 1/2 square triangles I had leftover

from my "Pick & Choose" quilt and I decided I could make another smaller quilt with them. I pulled out more fabric scraps and have been cutting some more squares and this is what I have come up with. I really like the way they both look so this will definately be fun to see how it all comes together. Wish me luck! BTW my Gammill is at the doctor to have its physical and tune up so I am trying to get alot of fun sewing done.

It is done!

I have been sick with a bad cold all weekend but managed to finish putting this awesome quilt together. Once you get all the blocks and strips done it goes together really fast!

Now I will go to the living room, take some aspirin, watch the Olympics, and take a nap. :D

Love It-Love It!

Scrappy quilts are my favorite, and this "Pick & Choose" quilt is all that and more! I just finished putting the body of the quilt together after getting home from work...............
..... and now to square up all these 1/2 square triangle blocks!!!!!

It won't be too bad, as long as there is some good movie on TV!!!!!

A Little Snow

Here is a picture of my backyard yesterday afternoon when I got home from work. It is hard to tell by looking but the wind was blowing the snow around and it looked very pretty from inside the house but not fun driving home from work. Hope everyone is warm and enjoying the beautiful clean white snow, it won't last long!

Some sewing progress!

I have not fallen off the face of the earth but have been busy with family. My daughter who had back surgery spent last week with us but is back home again and doing great! It has been rough for her but definately worth it.

I have been slowly working on my "Pick & Choose" quilt and just have more sashing strips to add and then the gazillion triangle squares. Oh, first I have to square them up!!
After I turned off the sewing machine last night I was looking for something under my cutting table and found this big silver box. I couldn't remember what I had in it so I opened it and found the "Piece & Plenty" quilt blocks I had started a looonnnggg time ago. Wow, it was just like Christmas!! I opened it and I love it as much as I did before and will get this one finished up next!

Why did I put it away? Why didn't I stick with it and get it finished? Well, not anymore! I am going to finish up what I start this year. That's my story and I am sticking to it! Have a wonderful quilty day and stay warm!!
