I haven't been able to post for the past few days, our computer had a really bad virus and it just got fixed today. It was really awful not being able to get on the computer to see what everyone had been up to and to communicate with my far away family. All is well today though and I am having a great time trying to catch up with everyone.
Since the holidays fell the way they did, these nice long weekends have been great. I have started piecing a new quilt with my scraps and below is a picture of the first block I made. Can you guess what the name of the quilt is??? I think I will give away a little gift to the first person who can guess what the name of this quilt, how about that?? Leave me a comment with your guess!
That is about it. Oh, and Julie, my 2nd PIF gal, your gift is in the mail and on its way to you! Just let me know when it has arrived safely. HAPPY NEW YEAR A DAY LATE!!

I don't know what the name of the "quilt" is, but if you break this block into four identical blocks, the smaller block is sometimes called Buckeye and sometimes Jacob's Ladder. Although the "true" Jacob's Ladder block is a bit different than this. I'll bet you come up with a lot of suggested names. lol
hmmm....it also has a layout similar to a Jewel Box block.....
I ADORE simple traditional blocks, specially SCRAPPY! Can't wait to see it come together!!!!!
((LOL)) I love the "word verification" ....
**a-hem**
nextubras
hmmm.....
Person #1: Shopping at Walmart again?
Person #2: Yeah, I have to get my 'nextubras' here. My other two bras have worn out!.
LOL.....((sorry, bad humor moment!))
You make me want to drive to Atlanta and buy some new fabric. I have not bought any new fabric in so long...
i'm guessing it's the new mystery quilt Carolina Christmas by Bonnie..
love your new fabrics..
Julia ♥
Oh, I've wandered off to comment about Avatar, so back again! Love your new fabrics and as soon as I am relieved of granchildren, I will get my PIF's posted! They don't want to go home!
Hugs - Lurline♥
What a pretty arrangement of blocks. It is amazing how many ways HST and four patch blocks can come together. I'd have to guess it is either Jacob's Stars or Buckeye Stars based on the other patterns from the same parts.
I've seen this before, but I don't know the name of it. How about "beautiful"??? Will that work??? *smile*
A very happy new year to you too! May it be happy healthy and creative!
You have a gorgeous colection of fabrics there! Yummmmm!
Hmmm... name of the quilt... the block looks very much like a Buckeye Beauty to me, so I think I'll go with that ;o)
Hi, I think the name is Buckeye Beauty from Quilting through the Seasons. I LOVE that quilt. Your colors are beautiful!

Am so glad I found your blog. The blocks you've shown are great and I can see they are very precisely made! I especially love the Vintage Patches quilt. Fabric is great & I love Evelyn Sloppy.
We had a very, very wet harvest also. It was disasterous (spell?). Not all crops got harvested.
Am adding you to my favorites.....
Love the block, and ALL the fabrics you got with the gift certificates! I am just getting into the 1800s repros - you got some great ones!
Oh I love that block. Your making me want to make it too! I can't wait to see more!
Know what you mean about a computer virus, We spent two days trying to correct a virus problem on my DH's computer. Finally had to call a computer tech today. Now it's working correctly.
Love the fabric you received for Christmas. Happy quilting in 2010
