Fabric & Surprises

Tuesday night I went up north to "Bits & Pieces" to deliver a quilt to a friend and just couldn't leave the shop without these happy fabrics! They are from the "Object of Desire" line from Moda. I just love the spring colors and right now I have no idea what I will do with them. :D

Tuesday evening I got a surprise call from a quilty friend of mine that was in town. I have known this lady for a long time and what is so fun about being with her is, she will piece a quilt for me or hand quilt one, and I in turn will machine baste quilts for her to hand quilt or machine quilt one of hers for her. Anyway, I picked her up after work and we went out to eat and to chat and to talk about quilts and what we each have been up to. She had told me she had a surprise for me. Well, I was really surprised because I had forgotten that she had taken this Jo Morton quilt of mine to hand quilt!
It is wonderful! Her quilting is exquisite (sp) and the quilt turned out so soft and pretty. I just love it!
Her other surprise was this wonderful little quilt angel with a little needle and thread working on her own quilt. Isn't she precious! She is so tiny that I couldn't get her features to show up very well, but she is so happy to be working on her quilt.

My friend will be leaving in a few days but will be back in May, so another evening of quilty talk and good food will give me something to look forward to. One of these days we may even actually quilt together!

How fun! Love the fabric (happy fabric)and the quilt looks so warm and cuddly. BTW..you inspired me. While I was in IN last week DSIL, Linda, got me started with hexagons. I'm hooked. Don't know what I will make yet but having fun doing them. Also, are you getting my emails?

Oh, but the hand quilting is the icing on the cake!
The new fabrics are happy ones. I mostly buy darker fabrics but I am attracted to those you purhcased.
