Fun Week-Tough Week

I am still plugging away and working hard to get my "Basket Of Logs" quilt done. I took time out to help my grandaughters with their quilts but am now concentrating on these blocks. I have all the baskets done and am working on the log blocks. I am so excited and will definately be keeping this one for me.

It has also been a rough couple of weeks. You see I lost my oldest daughter to Leukemia when she was just 25 years old. 14 years ago last week was when she went to be with the Lord. Before she passed away, one of the people I worked with that lived in Georgia was a friend and neighbor of Alan Jackson who was my daughters favorite singer. Being the wonderful person that he is, Alan Jackson autographed one of his hats and had it sent to my daughter. My daughter put it in a glass case with her pix beside the hat. I now have this wonderful gift and will always thank Alan Jackson for making my daughter so happy in her final days!

What a difficult memory. Also so sweet that someone did such a simple kind thing for her.

My heart truly aches for you. The anniversary of her death and her birthday will always be a painful days. Praise the Lord for your memories of a beautiful daughter and everything she brought to your life. It will be 30 years in October that my precious 4 year old son went to be with our Lord as the result of a tractor accident on our farm. Prayers for you during this difficult week of memories!

Hugs for you Carol! Your daughter and I would be just about the same age. I can't imagine the heartache.

I am glad there are good memories for you, too.
