Sad Day - Quilty Day

First I want to thank all you wonderful women who have prayed for my daughter to have a successful surgery. Well, yesterday my daughter got a call telling her the insurance company has decided they will not pay for this surgery. She called me devastated, and so were hubby and I. The surgery is cancelled for now but hopefully we will get some answers on why this has happened and hopefully get it reversed. I will keep you posted.
In the meantime I did what I always do when things seem to get out of control and that is quilt. I finished this great quilt by Carrie Nelson. Can't remember the name of it but I love it and all the dfferent scraps.
I think I will be doing alot of quilting until we get some answers!!

Happy Quilting!

I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's surgery being canceled. How terrible. I will hope that it gets resolved soon. Your quilt is absolutely lovely. I hope you find more comfort in your sewing.

So sorry to hear about your daughter's surgery being cancelled - I don't understand why insurance companies wait till the last minute to do this. (It happened to my brother last year too - back surgery- hmmmm) Your quilt is just beautiful and there is definitely therapy in sewing - take care.

I hope things work out for your daughter, we will just all keep praying. I also had to have a little quilting therapy therapy tonight after a particularly rough day. Hang in there!

I'm so sorry. That is a terrible decision by the insurance company. It's probably money orientated.
Our National Health Service has it's problems but at least a scheduled operation goes ahead and the money men don't have a say in any part of the health care.

Love and hugs Gina xxx

It's such a disappointment when surgeries are cancelled by insurance companies at the last minute. Hope things work out for her.

I have a picture of this quilt in my files with the heading "Pick and Choose" so that's at least one possible name for the block ...

I had the same thing happen to me 12 years ago a day before my surgery. It's so frustrating when insurance companies think they know better than doctors do. Hopefully you will have resolution soon!

I am really sorry to hear that your daughter's surgery has been canceled. I don't understand how insurance companies can decide that you "are" or "are not" eligible for something?!?!
Your quilt is just beautiful! I find sewing (quilting) is the best therapy! I hope you get some good news soon!

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's surgery being cancelled. I work in a doctor's office and I know how frustrating insurance companies can be. She needs to call them and appeal the decision. I know our health care needs to be fixed but I wish someone would come up with some reasonable solutions before we don't have any healthcare at all and still have some good doctors in practice. I'll keep praying for your daughter and a solution to her dilemma. I hope she's not suffering too badly.

Your quilt is beautiful.

Last minute changes to plans are the most frustrating to cope with. I hope a reversal of the decision is in the future and that surgery will be approved.
The quilt is lovely.

Your quilt looks beautiful despite being motivated by unfortunate circumstances. It must be so frustrating to have strangers make decisions about your daughters well being. Hopefully they will realize their mistake and change their decision.

Oh how awful. It's just bad enough that you have to deal with medical troubles and the surgery and doctors, etc., and then to have these kinds of fights with the insurance company as well. I do hope you are able to work things out.

So sorry about the surgery. Know it is difficult to get yourself built up for something and then have everything fall apart. Hope it all gets straightened out soon. Love the quilt.

I have read your post several times and each time I am struck with the sadness of your dgtr's situation. I have been praying for both of you. That is all I know to do in a situation that leaves one feeling so helpless. Much love to both of you.

The ins. companies stock auto-response is deny. FIHJT it. Call every day, speak to supervisors. the squeaky wheel gets the, er, surgery.
