Give-Away!

It's a beautiful sunny and windy day here in NW Indiana. It has been a very rainy spring so far and very little farm work has been done yet. We will enjoy the sunshine while we can and hope that things dry out soon.
Here is a pix of a quilt I finished this last week and will be mailing out tomorrow to Texas. I was very happy how it turned out. :D> This next pix is a baby quilt I finished putting together yesterday at our sewing day at the church. It is so cute! The FQ stack of these fabrics have produced three quilts that are so pretty and fun. Definately spring quilts!

Drum roll please!! Last but not least a pix of "Fig & Plum" fat quarter stack for my 200th post Give-Away! I will draw a name one week from today for a winner of these beautiful fabrics so be sure to enter. Be sure to tell your friends, and if they tell me who referred them, that person will get their names entered in also. Good Luck!!
Have a fantabulous sunny Sunday!!!

What I Am Working On

It has been a long time again since posting and so I decided to say "I am still here" and show you what I have been doing. I finished quilting a customer quilt for my friend in Texas but don't want to show it until she sees it. Below is a pix of the quilt I am piecing in the mornings before work this last week. The large blocks were meant to be small pieced blocks. I proceeded to cut the pieces wrong so decided just to make the bigger blocks instead. The fabrics are by Fig Tree Quilts and I think they are beautiful any way they are displayed.
Below is one of our Quilting Ministry quilts that I am quilting. The 12 blocks are all embroidered and each are different. Some little one will have a wonderful assortment of bible stories with this quilt. We have our sewing day on Saturday so I am trying hard to get it done so someone can bind it.
I realized when I started to post that this is my 200th one! I can't believe it!! I will have something fun to give-away for this wonderful occasion so stay tuned. What to do, what to do!!

Fabric & Surprises

Tuesday night I went up north to "Bits & Pieces" to deliver a quilt to a friend and just couldn't leave the shop without these happy fabrics! They are from the "Object of Desire" line from Moda. I just love the spring colors and right now I have no idea what I will do with them. :D

Tuesday evening I got a surprise call from a quilty friend of mine that was in town. I have known this lady for a long time and what is so fun about being with her is, she will piece a quilt for me or hand quilt one, and I in turn will machine baste quilts for her to hand quilt or machine quilt one of hers for her. Anyway, I picked her up after work and we went out to eat and to chat and to talk about quilts and what we each have been up to. She had told me she had a surprise for me. Well, I was really surprised because I had forgotten that she had taken this Jo Morton quilt of mine to hand quilt!
It is wonderful! Her quilting is exquisite (sp) and the quilt turned out so soft and pretty. I just love it!
Her other surprise was this wonderful little quilt angel with a little needle and thread working on her own quilt. Isn't she precious! She is so tiny that I couldn't get her features to show up very well, but she is so happy to be working on her quilt.

My friend will be leaving in a few days but will be back in May, so another evening of quilty talk and good food will give me something to look forward to. One of these days we may even actually quilt together!

Still Quilting

I am still here in blogland and have finally gotten rid of my cold and am quilting again. Here is the cute little boy's quilt that I finally finished and will be delivering this evening after work. My machine has been having tension issues again and I spent 3 evenings taking out most of the stitching on this quilt before hubby got it fixed. I am still not happy with it and we may end up taking it to the quilting machine doctor before it is all over. Isn't this quilt cute! The long strips on the sides are pockets to put the little guys cars in. Cute idea!

Alot of filler quilting and I know the young man will have many hours of happy playtime with his new quilt.

We had a wonderful Easter with our daughter coming home for a visit. Our Grandson called and came down for a visit too, bringing his letterman jacket with him for me to put 2 more emblems on it. I don't mind since I am the only Grandma he has that sews, that is one way to get the kids to visit. LOL We had a good visit and were sad to see them leave.

Hope you all had a great Easter with your loved ones, we sure did!

Another Hexagon

It seems like forever since I posted. I am finally feeling better but still have a cough. Today is the first time I have actually quilted in a week. I loaded a customer quilt this morning and am taking a break right now so I thought I would show you my latest hexagon I finished. At the pace I am on now, it will take me 2 years to get this quilt done! I will just have to knuckle down now that I am feeling better. :D

Spring is in the air here in Indiana and the grass is getting so green and the trees are budding. Tulips are breaking the ground and growing like crazy so there will be flowers blooming soon. Ahhh, the changing of the seasons!
