OC Step #3 Done

I finally got Step #3 done this morning. I had to work on them early in the day while my mind was uncluttered. They can get turned around the wrong way all by themselves and so I felt lucky when I only had to rip and resew one of them.

Paducah Finds

Kits, I love kits, always have. Everything you need right in the package to make the top. I loved these two, pretty traditional, so I brought them home.

The fabric on the right is from one of the several trips that we made to Hancock's. I love the back room where all the flat folds are kept and spent alot of time going through the stacks. I found a variety of fabrics and colors there and this was what I picked up. I did buy a few books this trip, one being "Nearly Insane". A group of us are going to be creating our own quilts with these blocks and will help encourage each other to finish them. I am still trying to decide what fabrics to do mine in.
This last picture is of a small little carrying case that will hold my hand piecing projects and gadgets. It is a small tapestry bag that reminded me of one that my Grandma used to have. Not pictured are 4 purse kits for family and friends that I found and a little pincushion kit that I want to make. All in all it was a wonderful trip, lots of laughter, great food, wonderful friends old and new, and of course great quilts!

Home From Paducah!

Paducah was alot of fun and the weather was perfect! The quilts were awesome this year and the shopping wasn't bad either. I picked up a couple of kits and quite a bit of fabric at Hancock's. The group I went with all became "Nearly Insane". We fell in love with the quilt so we each got the book, are deciding on our fabrics, and will encourage each other along the way. One is doing hers in batiks, one in 30's, one in civil war fabrics, and the rest are undecided. I will keep you posted. I am showing you the pix outside our front window at the cottage. Great view!

I will post tomorrow some of the goodies I just couldn't do without. LOL

Step #2 of the OC is done!

I am so happy to have finished these little gems before leaving for Paducah. I played around with the blocks and my curiosity is piqued on what Bonnie is going to do with them. So many possibilities!

Bad Bug!

The big bad flu bug came and bit me big time at 4:45 a.m. Friday morning and wouldn't let go until Sunday. I always forget how miserable the flu is until almost every spring the bug comes back to get me. I try to hide but to no avail, it always finds me.
But... today is Monday and it is now only 40 hours until I am on my way to Paducah! First though, I must go home after work and finish up my OC clue #2. I have 24 more blocks to finish sewing and then I can start to pack. I am loving ALL the OC quilts that I have seen in the blogs and it will be fun to see them all completed.

More Quilts and Step#2 OC

I have a couple more quilt displays that I forgot to post last night so I
am adding them now. I enjoy rearranging things to get a different look
so I am always moving furniture around. It drives my husband crazy! LOL
Also I have pix of my one block I have done for step #2 of the OC quilt
and the rest of the fabric that is cut. I didn't have enough lights so I went
to my bundle of fat quarters from the the MIX & MINGLE line and pulled
all of them out and cut them. That is why I love Moda fabrics so much,
everything goes together so well.

Displaying Quilts

I love displaying my quilts, don't you? What's the point of making quilts if you can't display them so you can enjoy them when you are in your home? I would love to see how you quiltersdisplay your quilts. I am always looking for new ways to display mine so I will show you my ways if you show me yours!

I forgot to add the pix.

Orange Crush Fabrics and 4-patches

I finally got the pix taken of my Orange Crush Fabrics. The lighting isn't the best but you get the idea. I am using Moda's "Sweet Potato Pie" collection that I have had for quite a while. I think I am going to like this quilt alot and it will make a nice fall quilt. So far, I haven't had to buy any new fabric for CC, Bargello Bowl, and Orange Crush. Talk about using up my stash! I am loving it. Thanks Bonnie!!!

Thanks for the help!

Just want to thank a fellow blogger who helped me with my blog.
It seems as I get older I don't retain new things as well, especially computer
things. I want to thank Pineridgequilter for her help today to get me set
up with the Mystery Ring Label. She is the best!
On a quilty note, I have started a Quilting Ministry at church. We have
been quilting on a wholecloth that we have decided to give to our new pastor
and his wife, but with all the classes and things at church we need to find a
place for my old fashion quilt frame, you know, the kind with the saw horses,
so we can leave the frame set up so ladies can just go in at different times and
quilt for awhile. Well, one of our members' husband owns a hardware store and
he is giving us the space we need in the upstairs of the building. Tonight my
husband and I will take it all over there, in the trailer because the poles that we
pin the quilt to are over 10 feet long, and get it all set up. I am so excited! What
a wonderful thing for this man to do. We just might have to make him a quilt too.

Carolina Crossroad Quilt

Carolina Crossroad Quilt
Since I am new to blogland I wanted to show my Carolina Crossroad quilt. I enjoyed the mystery and I think it is the first quilt that I started and actually finished. It is now quilted and bound and I absolutely love it. Thanks Bonnie for all your work on this and I am looking forward to doing the same thing with the Orange Crush quilt.
I want to thank Pineridgequilter for taking the photo for me. I will practice on the picture taking soon.
It is TGIF and so I have a customer quilt to finish quilting tomorrow before the grandaughters come for a visit. They love to watch me quilt and I hope they will one day be quilter too.

I fianlly did it!

I finally took the plunge and decided to become a blogger.
I love reading other quilter's blogs so I will have my own now
where I can share my ideas and my quilts with others.
I will post more soon.
